Peter Milne

Peter Milne (1934–2008) was a pioneering British naval architect whose innovative, high-performance sailing dinghies revolutionized one-design racing and amateur boatbuilding in the 1960s and 1970s. Best known for the Fireball, he designed over 20 boat classes, many of which remain actively raced worldwide. His philosophy: fast, fun, affordable, and buildable at home using plywood and epoxy—democratizing competitive sailing.
