X-Yachts
X-Yachts is a Danish yacht manufacturer founded in 1979 by Niels Jeppesen (chief designer), Lars Jeppesen, and Birger Hansen in Haderslev, southern Denmark. Starting with the racing-oriented X-79 which won major Scandinavian regattas and became a 500-boat one-design class, X-Yachts built a reputation for high-performance racing yachts throughout the 1980s. The company achieved remarkable racing success, winning the One Ton Cup (1986, 1990) and Three-Quarter Ton Cup multiple times (1981-1989) with models like the X-102 and X-99. In 1990, X-Yachts successfully transitioned to the cruising market with the Performance Cruiser range, beginning with the X-412 and X-382. Today, with 45 years of heritage and having delivered approximately 6,000 sailboats worldwide, X-Yachts employs 250 people producing around 75 boats annually across three series: XPerformance (racing), XCruising (comfort), and XRange (luxury performance). The company remains headquartered in Denmark and is considered a leader in performance yacht design and construction.
