Walton Boats

Walton Boats-Sydney's skiff powerhouse. Started by John Walton in the seventies out of Brookvale, they cranked out lightweight, hard-chine racers: the Falcon 14, custom 16-footers, and full-blown 18ft Skiffs for the big leagues. Think foam sandwich, carbon rigs, trapeze setups-pure adrenaline in fiberglass. They weren't huge-maybe 200, 250 hulls total-but every one planes like it's on rails. Falcons still scream across harbors in NSW; some customs powered America's Cup crews. Yard closed in the nineties, but Walton's DNA lives in every Aussie skiff kid who hikes out on day one.
