Skene Boats Ltd. was a Canadian fiberglass sailboat manufacturer based in Gloucester, Ontario (now part of Ottawa), specializing in small to mid-sized recreational sailboats, including dinghies, one-design racers, and trailerable cruisers. Founded amid the 1960s–1970s sailing boom, the company focused on quality hand-laid construction for affordable, performance-oriented vessels suitable for club racing and family day sailing. Known for producing popular one-design classes like the Albacore, Skene Boats built over 1,000 units across a diverse lineup, though its small-scale operation limited expansion. The yard emphasized Canadian market needs, such as trailerability for inland lakes and coastal waters, before closing due to economic pressures in the early 1990s.
