Allmand Boats Inc.
Allmand Boats Inc. is an American boat manufacturer founded by John Allmand in 1965, initially specializing in fiberglass powerboats and runabouts, and expanding into sailboats in the late 1970s amid the energy crisis. Based in Hialeah, Florida, the company produced a range of recreational and commercial vessels, including cabin cruisers, sportfishers, and the notable Allmand 31 sailboat, emphasizing solid fiberglass construction, affordability, and coastal suitability. After John's death, his brother Tom assumed control, but sailboat production ceased by the mid-1980s due to market shifts. Revived in the 2000s under family leadership (current executive: Todd Allmand), Allmand now focuses on custom-made-to-order boats, including fishing vessels, RIBs, and commercial crafts like the Hercules (2007, for Andaman Islands gamefishing) and Samurai (1996, Caribbean coastal).
