Westerly 22

Description

The Westerly 22 is the original model that launched Westerly Marine Construction Ltd. (UK) as a major fiberglass sailboat builder in the early 1960s. It's a classic British pocket cruiser, designed by Denys (or Denis) A. Rayner (British naval architect, also known as Commander Rayner; he founded Westerly and designed their early line, including this boat). Builder: Westerly Marine Construction Ltd. (Hamble/Waterlooville, England) — first Westerly production boat, derived from the earlier plywood West Coaster 20. Production: 1963–1967; ~332 hulls built (some sources cite slightly different counts due to variants).
