Viola 14 Sailing Canoe

Viola 14 Sailing Canoe

Description

The Viola (full name Viola 14 Sailing Canoe) is a modern, ultra-lightweight plywood/epoxy sailing canoe designed by Australian naval architect Michael Storer (Storer Boat Plans). Released around 2017–2018, it is intended as a highly portable, cartop-friendly boat that combines the simplicity of a paddling canoe with the stability and performance of a small sailing dinghy. It appeals to racing dinghy sailors, raid/extreme sailing enthusiasts, and home builders who want something easy to transport and launch without sacrificing fun under sail. Plans are detailed (85 pages, metric with imperial equivalents) and widely available; pre-cut plywood kits are offered by several suppliers. Dozens of examples have been built worldwide, with builds documented in Europe, the US, Australia, and elsewhere.
