Triton 24 Sloop

Triton 24 Sloop

Description

The Triton 24 (also known as Triton 24 Mk V in later variants) is a popular Australian-designed inshore masthead sloop created by John C. Alsop (a Qantas 747 check pilot who designed yachts as a sideline). It was built primarily in Sydney during the 1970s–1980s by the Triton Boat Company (and later variants by Donthree Pty Ltd). The boat targets family cruising, daysailing, and light club racing in protected to semi-protected coastal waters like Sydney Harbour, Pittwater, or similar Australian inshore areas. It emphasizes a wide beam for stability and interior volume in a compact package, making it forgiving and practical for novices or small crews.
