Stornoway 9
Description
The Stornoway 9 (also called Stornoway 9.6 or 9'8") is a compact lapstrake rowing/sailing dinghy designed by François Vivier and offered through Vivier Boats since the 2010s. Perfect as a yacht tender or solo daysailer, it has been built in dozens worldwide by skilled amateurs. The design features 5‑strake lapstrake plywood construction, a balanced lug rig, narrow waterline beam for speed, and excellent rowing ergonomics. Vivier's elegant styling delivers traditional looks with modern performance, offering stability for 2 adults, beachability, and versatility for sheltered waters. Its compact size belies substantial carrying capacity and seaworthiness.
