Sto-a-Way 16
Description
The Sto‑a‑Way 16 is a 16‑foot folding fiberglass sailing dinghy designed by George B. Ireland and built by Sto‑a‑Way Boats (USA) during the 1960s and 1970s. Marketed for its unique folding design (reduces beam from 6'6" to 2'6" for trailering/storage), approximately several hundred were produced. The boat features a simple sloop rig, centerboard, self‑bailing cockpit, and rugged construction suitable for beach launching and family daysailing. Its innovative hinge system allows easy transport while maintaining good sailing performance, making it popular for car topping and small‑craft adventures.
