Sprit 23 K
Description
The Spirit 23 K (also referred to as Spirit 23K) is the fixed-keel variant of the compact American cruiser known as the Spirit 23 (originally marketed as the North American 23). Designed by Robert Finch and built by Glastron (via its North American Yachts and later Spirit Yachts subsidiaries in the USA), it was produced from 1978 to 1981. The boat is a trailerable fiberglass pocket cruiser aimed at daysailing, weekend cruising, and light club racing on lakes, bays, or protected coastal waters. The Spirit 23 K differs from the standard Spirit 23 (keel/centerboard version) in several ways: it has a fixed fin keel (deeper than the CB-up draft but shallower than the CB-down), a taller mast with more sail area, a mid-cockpit mainsail traveler, and a solid fiberglass rudder. The centerboard model is lighter (2,800 lb displacement, 800 lb ballast) with drafts from 2' (up) to 5' (down). Both versions share the same basic hull form and interior layout.
