Spindrift 11 (Also 11n For Nesting)
Description
The Spindrift 11 is a versatile, lightweight sailing dinghy from B&B Yacht Designs, part of the Spindrift series (9, 10, 11, and 12 models) designed by Graham Byrnes in the 1990s. Slightly larger than the Spindrift 9N and 10, it serves as both a capable yacht tender and a fun daysailer, offering more capacity and stability for small crews or family outings. Like the 9N, it’s available in a nesting version (Spindrift 11N) that splits into two sections for compact storage, making it ideal for cruisers with limited deck space or sailors needing a boat that fits in a pickup bed or yacht locker. Built using stitch-and-glue plywood construction, it’s affordable, durable, and quick to assemble, appealing to DIY builders and yacht clubs. With over 1,500 Spindrift plan sets sold globally, the 11 is popular for its roomy cockpit and versatility, often praised as the “Goldilocks” of the series—not too small like the 9N, not too big like the 12.
