Speedi (Windjammer 17)
Description
The Windjammer 17 (sometimes called the Windjammer 17 Cabin in a variant) is an ultralight fiberglass daysailer/pocket cruiser designed by Charles Wittholz and built by Chesapeake Marine Industries (USA, with some references to Seahorse Plastics of Va. involvement). First built in 1966, it was positioned as a responsive, high-performance alternative to heavier, more sluggish small day boats of the era. It features classic lines with a hull form influenced by Chesapeake Bay conditions — a fine entry and bow shape that helps keep the cockpit relatively dry in chop.
