Signet 20 MK II
Description
This variant of Ray Kaufmann's original 1960 design maintains the same fundamental characteristics as the standard Signet 20 but features refined sail dimensions and enhanced light-air performance capabilities. Built by Hurley Marine and Gilmax Limited in the United Kingdom, plus Signet Marine in the United States, this British trailerable sailboat served as both a day sailer and pocket cruiser with fiberglass construction and wood trim. The Mk II version offers multiple keel configurations including single fin keel, twin bilge keels, and various rudder mounting options, all controlled by tiller. Accommodation includes sleeping for four people with a double V-berth forward, two quarter berths aft, galley facilities on both sides forward of the companionway, and a head compartment under the V-berth with 48-inch cabin headroom. While exact production numbers aren't specified in available sources, the design remained in production from 1960 until it was eventually discontinued.
