Seafly
Description
The Seafly was designed by John Vincent Kelley and Stan Herbert and first built in 1963 by South Devon Boatbuilders in the UK. Approximately 700 units have been built, making it a reasonably popular class. This boat is the successor to the earlier, slightly smaller Mayfly and represents a significant step up in performance. The Seafly is an ultralight sailboat which is a very high performer. It is stable/stiff and has a low righting capability if capsized. It is best suited as a racing boat.
