S2 9.2 Meter "A" Aft Cockpit

Description

The S2 9.2 Meter "A" Aft Cockpit (also known as the S2 9.2A or S2 9.2 A) is an American cruising sailboat designed by Arthur Edmunds as the aft-cockpit variant of the popular S2 9.2 series, built by S2 Yachts in Holland, Michigan; introduced in 1977 and produced until 1987, with approximately 520 units constructed (compared to about 426 of the center-cockpit "C" model, for a combined total around 946). The fiberglass monohull features a fin keel with skeg-mounted rudder, masthead sloop rig, moderate displacement for stability and comfortable motion, and a spacious, practical interior suited for family coastal or extended cruising, including a V-berth forward, saloon settees (convertible to doubles), large aft quarter berth, U-shaped galley, enclosed head, navigation station, and good headroom/storage; it offers solid build quality (often with encapsulated lead ballast and fabric hull liner in some years), predictable handling, good light-air performance from its generous sail area, easy single-handing with lines led aft, and a reputation for durability, seaworthiness, and value.
