Ranger 20
Description
The Ranger 20 is a compact monohull sailboat designed by Raymond Richards and built by Ranger Fiberglass Boats (USA) starting in 1972. It’s a trailerable coastal cruiser and day sailor with a reputation for durability, ease of handling, and suitability for recreational sailing. Known for its solid fiberglass construction and centerboard design, it’s popular for sailing in shallow waters and small-scale racing or weekend cruising. Ranger Yachts, founded by Jack Jensen in 1970, ceased production in 1987. The company, known for building sailboats designed primarily by Gary Mull, was acquired by Bangor Punta in 1973 and later became part of Lear Siegler in 1984 when Lear Siegler bought out Bangor Punta. As part of Lear Siegler's restructuring in the late 1980s, the Ranger Yachts line was discontinued, the design contract with Gary Mull was terminated, and the division was dissolved in 1987. Additionally, Lear Siegler ordered most of the Ranger boat molds destroyed, effectively ending production.

Disclaimer. Boats are not all the same -- even when produced in the same factory of the same model. Sailrite does its best to publish accurate dimensions, but we often find it worthwhile to have our customers measure their boats carefully before we produce kits for them. You should take the same precautions, especially when the data is not from Sailrite.
