Pearson 33-2

Description

Launched in 1986, the 33-2 was a modernized redesign, not a direct evolution of the Mark I, built during Pearson’s later years before its 1991 closure. Lighter and more performance-oriented, it featured a fin keel (standard or shoal draft) and a spade rudder for improved handling. It catered to the growing PHRF racing scene and family cruising market, with a Yanmar diesel engine (typically 2GM20F, 18 hp) for reliable auxiliary power. Around 100–150 units were produced, reflecting Pearson’s shift toward lighter, more agile designs before financial struggles ended production. Disclaimer. Boats are not all the same -- even when produced in the same factory of the same model. Sailrite does its best to publish accurate dimensions, but we often find it worthwhile to have our customers measure their boats carefully before we produce kits for them. You should take the same precautions, especially when the data is not from Sailrite.
