North Wind 23 (NW 7)

North Wind 23 (NW 7)

Description

The North Wind 23 (later renamed NW 7 around 1978) is a compact fiberglass trailerable sailboat designed by Scott Kaufman and built by North Wind Yachts in Blachly, Oregon, starting in 1976. Production numbers are unknown but likely low (under 100 units), making it a rare find today. It features a swing keel with outboard rudder for shallow-water versatility and easy trailering, paired with a masthead sloop rig for simple single-handing. Ideal as a daysailer or pocket cruiser for 2-4, it offers a cozy cuddy cabin with V-berths, basic galley, and portable head under 6 ft headroom (extendable with optional pop-top).
