Mirage 33 /35
Description
The 33 transom is truncated -- in other respects the 33 and 35 are the same boat., Designed by French naval architect Philippe Harlé and built by Mirage Yachts Ltd. in Quebec from 1982 to 1985 with approximately 120 hulls produced, is a spirited 33.5-foot fractional-sloop cruiser-racer featuring a 11.58-foot beam, 27-foot waterline, and a standard 5.5-foot fin keel (with shoal and centerboard options) carrying 4,200 pounds of lead ballast in a 10,200-pound displacement for a stable yet lively SA/D of ~18.8 and PHRF ratings around 132–144. Its 7/8 fractional rig with swept spreaders and 556 square feet of sail area delivers excellent upwind bite and light-air performance, while the hand-laid fiberglass hull (solid below the waterline, balsa-cored deck) and spade rudder ensure responsive handling and seaworthy motion. The surprisingly spacious teak interior offers 6’2” headroom, sleeping 5–6 across a V-berth, quarter berth, and convertible saloon, plus a U-shaped galley, enclosed head with shower, and large nav station.
