Malo 42 cutter

Malo 42 cutter

Description

The Malo 42 (often referred to as the Malö 42 cutter) is a premium Swedish bluewater cruiser built by Malö Yachts on the island of Orust between 1991 and 2002 (about 33 hulls produced). Designed by Leif Ängermark, it's celebrated for its exceptional build quality, seaworthiness, comfort, and ease of handling—making it a favorite for serious offshore and ocean cruising, often called a "go-anywhere" yacht or the "Swedish army knife" of sailboats. Available in both cutter and fractional sloop versions, the cutter rig (with self-tacking staysail) is particularly popular for short-handed sailing, offering excellent balance in varied conditions. These boats emphasize hand-crafted details, over-engineered construction, and luxurious mahogany interiors, setting them apart from mass-produced designs.
