Helms 30
Description
The Helms 30 is a classic American coastal cruiser/racer built by Helms Yachts (Jack A. Helms Co., Irmo, South Carolina, USA) starting in 1976 (with production through the late 1970s/early 1980s as part of the company's limited run of ~600–800 total boats across models). Designed by John Holmes, it's a masthead sloop with a fin keel and spade rudder, offering good sailing performance for its era—decent upwind ability, comfortable motion, and suitability for club racing, weekend cruising, or family daysailing on protected waters or short coastal hops.
