Harstad 31 Motorsailer

Harstad 31 Motorsailer

Description

The Harstad 31 Motorsailer is a rare, trailerable heavy displacement motorsailer designed by renowned naval architect William Crealock (William I.B. Crealock) and built by Harstad Trawler Co. (or associated yard) in the mid-1970s (introduced around 1975). It shares hull molds and DNA with the more common Clipper Marine 32 (CM32) series (over 500 built), but the Harstad variant features upgrades like a doghouse for better weather protection, larger windows, a heavier keel (about 10% more ballast), and a standard Yanmar 20 hp diesel (vs. the CM32's lighter 8–12 hp options). Only fewer than a dozen Harstad 31s were produced, making it extremely rare today
