Grand Soleil 39 (Maletto)

Grand Soleil 39 (Maletto)

Description

The Grand Soleil 39 (Maletto)—often called the GS 39 Maletto—is a modern performance cruiser-racer from Grand Soleil Yachts (Cantiere del Pardo, Italy), designed by Claudio Maletto (an America's Cup naval architect). Launched around 2011–2012 to celebrate the yard's 39th anniversary, it was produced through the mid-2010s (replaced by the current GS 40 Paperini around 2020). It's distinct from the earlier classic Grand Soleil 39 (Jezequel)—this version emphasizes contemporary racer-cruiser traits: fractional rig, bulb keel, twin helms (in many), clean deck layout, and strong light-air/light-wind performance with good all-around versatility for club racing, coastal/offshore cruising, or short-handed sailing.
