Description

The Gozzard 36 is a highly regarded Canadian bluewater cruiser designed by Ted Gozzard (H. Ted Gozzard) and built by his family-owned North Castle Marine Ltd. (later Gozzard Yachts) in Goderich, Ontario, from 1985 to 1998, with approximately 90 hulls produced. This fiberglass monohull cutter (with clipper bow, bowsprit, and traditional styling) emphasizes seaworthiness, comfort, and quality construction for a cruising couple—solid, stiff, and capable of extended passages (e.g., bluewater-ready with low capsize screening and strong righting ability). It features a fin keel with skeg-hung rudder for protection and tracking, cored hull/deck for strength/insulation, and a spacious, innovative interior (open-plan layout ditching traditional bulkheads for flexibility, owner's aft cabin in many, V-berth forward, large saloon, galley, enclosed head(s), teak trim, and headroom ~6 ft+).
