Goman Express 30
Description
The Goman Express 30 (commonly just called the Express 30) is a classic Canadian performance cruiser-racer designed by renowned naval architect Steve Killing and built by Goman Boat Ltd. (later associated with Express Yachting) in Midland, Ontario, from 1981 to around 1985 (limited production, estimated dozens to low hundreds of hulls). It's a fiberglass monohull masthead sloop with a fin keel and spade rudder, emphasizing a blend of speed, handling, and comfort—strong in light-to-moderate winds (great acceleration and pointing), balanced and forgiving, with a reputation for fun club racing or coastal cruising while offering a surprisingly accommodating interior (V-berth forward, saloon settees, galley, enclosed head, quarter berths sleeping 5–6, headroom ~6 ft). A racing-oriented "Express 30M" variant exists with lower freeboard, smaller coachroof, and spartan interior for better performance
