The Goldfish is a rare, vintage American daysailer/knockoff of the classic Sunfish design, produced in limited numbers during the late 1960s to early 1970s by an obscure or short-lived builder (exact manufacturer details are sparse, possibly a small regional yard or kit-inspired production; no major records exist beyond archival sail dimension entries and owner anecdotes). It's essentially a fiberglass board boat with a lateen rig similar to the Sunfish—compact, lightweight, and simple for beach launching, lake daysailing, or beginner/intermediate fun. Key differences from a standard Sunfish include a slightly larger sail area (about 5 ft² more), lighter weight (around 5 lb less in some reports), and minor hull tweaks (e.g., different cockpit shape or attachments), leading to a Portsmouth handicap rating of ~109 (vs. Sunfish ~99.6, meaning slightly slower in handicap racing). It uses the same mast/spars/sail as a Sunfish (or compatible ones), with the same daggerboard and a similar rudder (though some have different attachment styles).
