The Gib'Sea Master 48 (also listed as Gib Sea Master 48 or Gib Sea Master 48 Plus in some sail archives) is a large French performance cruiser designed by renowned duo Joubert/Nivelt (Michel Joubert and Bernard Nivelt) and built by Gibert Marine (Gib'Sea/Gibert Marine) in France around 1990–1993 (limited production, with some hulls from 1992–1995 noted in listings). This fiberglass monohull masthead sloop (some variants cutter-rigged) emphasizes elegance, versatility, seaworthiness, and generous accommodations for extended coastal/offshore cruising or liveaboard use—robust construction, balanced handling, and a powerful sail plan that excels in light-to-moderate winds while remaining well-mannered in heavier conditions. The "Master" designation highlights the owner's version layout: typically, 3 cabins (spacious aft owner's suite with en-suite head/shower, forward guest cabin, and saloon convertible berths), sleeping 6–8 comfortably (large saloon, galley, multiple heads, teak finishes, and headroom ~6 ft+ / 1.85–1.95 m).
