Gib Sea 392
Description
The Gib'Sea 392 (also written as Gib Sea 392) is a spacious French family cruiser designed by Joubert/Nivelt (Michel Joubert and Bernard Nivelt) and built by Gibert Marine (Gib'Sea/Gibert Marine) in France from around 1990–1992. Production was limited (low hundreds estimated, similar to other Gib'Sea models), with many examples used in Mediterranean charter or private cruising for their generous volumes, strong seaworthiness, and practical layout. This fiberglass monohull masthead sloop features a fin keel with spade rudder for good upwind performance and balanced handling—forgiving yet capable in varied conditions, with a generous sail plan delivering excellent light-air performance. The interior stands out for its era: typically 3 cabins (often with owner's aft cabin), sleeping 6–8 comfortably (V-berth forward, large saloon with settees, galley, enclosed head(s), chart table, teak/practical finishes, and headroom ~6 ft+), plus ample storage and a "big boat" feel in a ~39 ft package. Auxiliary is usually a reliable inboard diesel (e.g., Perkins Prima M50 ~48 hp or similar).
