Gazelle 22
Description
The Gazelle 22 is a classic Canadian pocket cruiser designed by George Cuthbertson of C&C Design Group and built by Ontario Yachts (formerly Ontario Place Marine) from 1980 to 1984, with approximately 25–30 units produced before production ended due to the yard's closure. This fiberglass sloop draws inspiration from traditional lines for a timeless aesthetic, offering surprising interior volume and seaworthiness in a trailerable package—ideal for solo sailors, couples, or small families tackling coastal bays, Great Lakes gunkholing, or even light offshore passages. Known for its balanced performance and ease of handling, it compares favorably to contemporaries like the Grampian 22 or Viking 22, with a reputation for dry decks and a comfortable motion despite its modest size.
