G&S 30
Description
The G&S 30 (also known as Graham & Schlageter 30) is a high-performance American International Offshore Rule (IOR) Half Ton class racer designed by the Chicago-based firm Graham & Schlageter (Scott Graham and Eric Schlageter) and first built in 1979, with limited production as custom or semi-custom hulls (very few built, often by small yards or individual builders, emphasizing lightweight fiberglass construction with fin keel and spade rudder for agility and speed). It's a fractional sloop rig optimized for competitive racing on the Great Lakes and national circuits, featuring sharp upwind pointing, excellent acceleration from its low displacement, planing potential downwind, and responsive handling that rewards skilled crews—making it a classic IOR-era "rocket".
