Description
The Friendship 35 is a well-regarded Dutch performance cruiser-racer designed by naval architect Jac de Ridder (also known as Koos de Ridder in some references) and built by Friendship Yachts (associated with Dutch yards like Meijer Balk or similar) primarily in the 1980s to early 1990s, with fiberglass (GRP/polyester) construction. It features a fin keel with spade rudder (standard draft around 1.70–1.80 m / 5.58–5.91 ft; shallow/lift keel or wing keel options ~1.50–1.60 m / 4.92–5.25 ft for versatility in shallower waters), fractional sloop rig (some listings note masthead variants), and a focus on excellent sailing characteristics—lively, balanced handling, good upwind performance, and strong light-air capability from its generous sail plan—while offering comfortable family cruising accommodations (typically 2 cabins, 4–6 berths, V-berth forward, saloon with settees, galley, enclosed head, teak interior finish, and headroom around 1.90 m / 6.23 ft).
