Description
The Frers 39 refers to a performance-oriented sailboat design by renowned Argentine naval architect German Frers, most prominently realized as the Dufour 39 (Frers) built by Dufour Yachts in France from 1982 to 1994. This fiberglass monohull masthead sloop was produced in relatively high numbers for the era, with approximately 160 hulls built, many destined for the Mediterranean/Aegean charter trade while fewer reached the US market (often with teak decks and other upgrades). It features elegant lines, a fin keel with spade rudder (some sources note skeg rudder variants in related listings), good all-around performance with strong handling on all points of sail, and a comfortable, light/airy interior for cruising (V-berth forward, saloon, galley, head, and berths sleeping 6–7, though the interior is more traditional Dufour-style rather than luxury).
