Fisher 25 MS
Description
The Fisher 25 (also known as the Fisher 25 MS for Motorsailer) is a classic British trailerable pilothouse sailboat designed by Wyatt and Freeman (the design partnership of David Freeman and Wyatt) as a compact cruiser. It was first built in 1974 by Fairways Marine (UK), with production continuing under various builders like Northshore Yachts (UK), Neil Marine (Sri Lanka), and Fisher Boat Company (revival/reproduction runs in recent years). This is a heavy, robust motorsailer with a long keel (with transom-hung rudder) for excellent tracking and stability, a pilothouse for protected steering in bad weather, and a masthead sloop rig that's easy to handle short-handed. It's built for all-weather cruising (North Sea-inspired lines), with a dry cockpit, solid fiberglass construction, and a reputation as a "battle ship" or "tank"—very seaworthy but not a lightweight racer.
