Description
The Feeling 346 (also known as the Kirie Feeling 346) is a popular French cruiser-racer built by Kirie (Les Sables d'Olonne, France, later part of Alliaura Marine) from 1987 to 1997, with around 300–350 hulls produced. Designed by Gilles Vaton & Cadro (Vaton Design), it's an evolution in the Feeling series (following models like the 286 and 326), emphasizing bright, airy interiors, spacious volume for its length (often 3 cabins/6–8 berths), and solid performance in moderate winds—lively and forgiving but potentially wet or twitchy in heavy chop if not reefed early. It was a common charter boat in the Med/Aegean/Adriatic (especially "deck saloon" DI variants from 1987) and private cruiser in Europe/UK. The design features a masthead sloop rig (overlapping genoas for power), fin keel (standard) or shoal/lifting keel options (for shallower draft or trailering/beaching), spade rudder, wheel steering, and self-draining aft cockpit. Construction is fiberglass (GRP) with a focus on quality for the era (good build feel, though interior woodwork/carpet can age with damp). Owners note excellent light-air speed, comfortable motion, and easy handling—great family/coastal racer or pocket cruiser.
