Fantasi 44

Description

The Fantasi 44 is a high-quality Swedish-built cruising yacht designed by Gabriel Heyman and constructed by Fantasi Yachts in Skaftö, Sweden. Launched in the late 1990s (first hulls around 1998), it comes in three variants: Classic, Pilothouse, and Dawdle (a custom one-off with similar specs). The Fantasi 44 is a semi-custom blue water cruiser blending traditional Scandinavian aesthetics—sleek lines, teak decks, and robust construction—with modern features like hydraulic furling and a self-tacking jib, making it ideal for short-handed ocean passages. With only ~20–30 total units built (all variants combined), it’s a rare gem, emphasizing seaworthiness, comfort, and performance for couples or families. Its slender hull and long waterline ensure efficient sailing (7–9 knots in trades), while the deep bulb keel provides stability for high-latitude or transoceanic voyages. CE Category A ocean-rated, it carries a PHRF handicap of ~90–110, balancing speed with cruising comfort. 30,864 lbs. Beam:13.25'
