Facil 26 MH
Description
The Facil 26 MH (often listed as Facil 26 Masthead or simply Facil 26 with MH rig) is a compact Swedish pocket cruiser/racer designed by Tommy Ståhl in the mid-1970s. It was built by Oaxen Marin (later Facil-båtar) on Oaxen island on Sweden's east coast, with production running into the early 1980s (a few hundred hulls total). It's a fiberglass daysailer/weekender with basic cruising accommodations, known for affordability, solid build, and decent performance in Nordic conditions—similar in spirit to other small Swedish boats like the Maxi 77, Vega 27, or Contessa 26, but with a more modern (for the era) hull shape and rig options. The "MH" specifically denotes the masthead rig variant (forestay to masthead, unlike fractional rigs on some contemporaries). Early boats (pre-1982) typically had this masthead setup for simplicity and a larger genoa emphasis, while later ones sometimes shifted to fractional. The MH version is praised for ease of handling, good pointing with overlapping headsails, and forgiving manners.
