Edel 665 (Edel 660, Edel 6)
Description
The Edel 665 (also marketed as the Edel 660 in France, Edel 6, or Edel 665/660) is a French/Canadian trailerable daysailer and small pocket cruiser designed by Maurice Edel and built by Construction Nautic Edel in France, along with its Canadian subsidiary Edel Canada. Production ran from 1975 to 1984, with a total of approximately 900 hulls manufactured (some sources cite around 920 per year in Canada during peak years 1979–1982). It features a fiberglass monohull with a fixed keel, wide beam for stability, pop-up cabin top for extra headroom, tiller steering, ample storage, an enclosed head, and a simple fractional sloop rig optimized for easy handling, family sailing, shallow draft access, and good performance in varied conditions — making it forgiving for beginners while capable for coastal daysailing or short cruises.
