Echo Bay Dory Skiff

Echo Bay Dory Skiff

Description

The Echo Bay Dory Skiff (EBDS) is a versatile, lightweight wooden skiff blending traditional dory seaworthiness with modern dinghy performance. Designed by Eric Risch and produced in kit form by Clint Chase of Chase Small Craft in Saco, Maine, it's perfect for novice builders, families, or camps seeking an easy-to-build boat that rows efficiently and sails spiritedly. At just 11'7" long and 80–85 lbs. it's cartoppable, stable for beginners, and handles chop without pounding—thanks to its flared sides and V-bottom amidships. Over 200 kits have been sold since its introduction around 2010, with many built in weekend workshops at events like the WoodenBoat Show in Mystic, CT. Sprit and lug sail alternatives are offered.
