Eagle Harbor 19

Description

The Eagle Harbor 19 (EH19) is a rare, custom one-design trailerable daysailer designed in the late 1970s by local builder/designer Jim Taylor for the Eagle Harbor Yacht Club on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Inspired by classic wooden skiffs but constructed in fiberglass for durability and ease of maintenance, it's a versatile pocket cruiser-racer suited for protected waters like Puget Sound harbors. With a shallow draft and retractable keel, it's ideal for trailering and beaching. Only a small fleet of ~12 boats was built, making it a club-specific class with limited national presence. The Eagle Harbor Yacht Club (EHYC) informally governs the class through fleet rules, emphasizing fair racing without formal World Sailing recognition. Races follow US Sailing guidelines, with class additions for one-design parity. The fleet is active in local regattas, focusing on family-friendly events. Full rules are club-internal; contact EHYC for measurement certificates and plans (not publicly available online).
