Diva 39

Diva 39

Description

The DIVA 39 is a Swedish performance-oriented cruiser/racer designed by Bernt Lindquist and Peter Ståhle, built by Fabola Boats (Fabola Yachts) in Sweden from 1982 to 1989. It was produced in a limited series (estimates suggest around 250–350 hulls, with a few imported to the US in the 1980s), featuring a sleek, narrow-beam fiberglass hull with sandwich construction in some areas for lightness and strength, a fractional sloop rig optimized for speed and ease of handling, and a comfortable interior built in traditional Swedish style with teak accents. The boat is celebrated for its fast lines, generous sail plan delivering excellent light-air performance, large cockpit, and strong offshore capability, making it a favorite for both racing and cruising — a timeless design that prioritized joy of sailing over strict rating rules.
