Dickerson 32

Dickerson 32

Description

The Dickerson 32 is a classic American wooden cruising ketch built by Dickerson Boatbuilders, Inc. (Trappe, Maryland, USA), a respected yard known for high-quality plank-on-frame wooden yachts in the mid-20th century. It was designed by Ted E. Graves (a naval architect associated with Dickerson) and introduced in 1959 as one of the yard's early models, with production continuing into the 1960s (exact end date varies, but hulls were built through at least the mid-1960s). Construction used traditional carvel planking (mahogany or similar) over sawn frames with a long keel for excellent directional stability and seakindliness, making it a capable coastal and moderate offshore cruiser with a reputation for solid build quality, comfortable motion, and timeless appeal among wooden boat enthusiasts.
