Delft 25
Description
The Delft 25 is a compact, high-performance wooden sailboat designed by naval architect Eric W. Sponberg in the late 1980s, emphasizing do-it-yourself construction using WEST System epoxy techniques. Completed in 1989, it's an unsinkable, trailerable sloop with a unique rotating carbon fiber and wood-epoxy wingmast, making it ideal for coastal cruising, day sailing, and light racing. At under 26 feet, it qualifies for homeowner's insurance storage and backyard builds, blending simplicity, safety, and spirited performance in a package praised by WoodenBoat magazine for its roomy accommodations and innovative features. Only 11 full sets of plans were sold, making built examples rare collector's items.
