Ct 41 Ketch
Description
The CT 41 Ketch (also known as the Ta Chiao CT 41) is a classic Taiwanese heavy-displacement cruising sailboat designed by Robert Perry and introduced in 1973 by Ta Chiao Enterprises in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Production ran through the late 1970s into the early 1980s, with approximately 100–150 units built, many customized for bluewater voyages. Evolving from the CT 38 and inspired by traditional lines with modern fiberglass construction, it’s renowned for its robust build, full keel for seaworthiness, and spacious interior—ideal for couples or small families on coastal or offshore passages. Owners praise its stability and load-carrying capacity (e.g., for circumnavigations) but note its underpowered performance in light winds and maintenance needs for chainplates and deck cores in older hulls. The ketch rig is the dominant configuration, offering balanced sail plans for short-handed sailing. It’s a "bulletproof voyagemaker" similar to the Westsail 32 but larger and more comfortable, often compared to the Formosa 41 for its charter-friendly design.
