Cs 44
Description
The CS 40 is a Canadian coastal cruiser-racer sailboat designed by Tony Castro and introduced in 1987 by CS Yachts (Canadian Sailcraft) in Brampton, Ontario. Production ran until around 1990, with approximately 100 units built, many customized with options like Kevlar hulls, turbo diesels, tall rigs, or swim platforms. It's an evolution of the CS 36 Merlin, featuring a modern Euro-style hull with a wide beam, flat run, and IOR influences for enhanced speed and stability. Known for its solid vacuum-bagged fiberglass construction (balsa-cored above the waterline) and versatile layout, it's favored for club racing, family cruising, and charters.
