Creekmore 45 Sloop/Cutter
Description
The Creekmore 45 (often referred to as the Creekmore 45 Sloop/Cutter or Creekmore 45/46 due to paperwork and finish variations) is a robust, bluewater-capable cruising sailboat emphasizing heavy-duty construction, excellent seaworthiness, and offshore reliability. It's a full/long keel design built for serious passage making, with strong tracking, stability in heavy weather, and a comfortable motion — though it's not optimized for light-air speed or racing. Many examples were finished as cutters (standard on sailboatdata.com) or sloop/cutter hybrids ("slutter" in some owner terms), featuring a staysail inner forestay for versatile sail plans (e.g., yankee jib + staysail for balance in breeze, or genoa for lighter conditions). This rig offers more options for shorthanded or offshore use compared to a pure sloop, with easier sail management in strong winds. Designed by Ray Creekmore (Florida-based architect known for tough, practical cruisers), hulls were built by Creekmore (Ray and son Lee) in Florida, USA, often as semi-complete shells for owner/custom finishing. This led to significant variations (rig, keel depth, interiors, engines), but the core hull and keel are consistent. Production ran from around 1981 (some earlier roots in the 1970s), with 26 hulls built total.
