Constant Camber 44 M
Description
The Constant Camber 44M (often abbreviated as CC44M) is a trimaran sailboat design developed by renowned multihull designer John Marples in collaboration with Jim Brown. It utilizes the innovative Constant Camber (CC) construction method, which is a patented "outside-in" plywood-epoxy building technique that creates strong, curved hull panels using a single unilateral mold. This method, invented by Jim Brown in the 1970s, allows for efficient production of multiple hulls from one mold, resulting in frameless, monocoque structures that are lightweight, durable, and virtually watertight. The CC44M is particularly suited for amateur builders due to its simplified assembly process, where identical veneer strips are laminated without the need for complex spiling (custom-fitting) of planks.
