Compis 28
Description
The Compis 28 is a classic Swedish family cruiser designed by Bernt Andersson and built by Börjesson Brothers (also associated with Compis Båtar and sometimes Scanmar references) in Sweden from the late 1960s/early 1970s through the early 1980s (roughly 1968–1983). Several hundred hulls were produced (exact count not precisely documented but in the low hundreds), making it a popular and affordable option in its era for coastal and short offshore cruising in northern European waters. It gained a strong reputation for its practical design—balancing good sailing performance with surprising interior volume and comfort for its size (often praised for full standing headroom around 180 cm/5'11" and a roomy feel)—thanks to a fin keel with transom-hung rudder for responsive handling, solid hand-laid fiberglass construction, a masthead sloop rig that's easy to manage (with options like roller furling genoa and lazy jacks), inboard diesel engine compatibility (commonly Yanmar 8–21 hp), and accommodations for 4–5 people including berths, galley, and head.
