Chrysler 20

Description

The Chrysler 20 was designed by renowned naval architect Halsey Herreshoff, known for his work on larger performance yachts. It was produced by Chrysler Marine, a division of the Chrysler Corporation, in Plano, Texas, from 1977 to 1980. Chrysler entered the boating market in the 1950s with powerboats and expanded into sailboats in the 1970s, acquiring molds from companies like Lone Star Boats. Due to Chrysler's financial difficulties in the early 1980s, the marine division was sold off, and production of the Chrysler 20 ceased. The molds were later acquired by other entities, but no significant continuation of the model occurred. Today, active class associations like the Chrysler Sailing Association and Chrysler Sailors organize events and provide owner support, fostering a dedicated community.
