C&C Redwing 30

Description

The C&C Redwing 30 (also known as the Redwing 30 or C&C 30 Redwing) is a classic Canadian recreational sailboat designed by Cuthbertson & Cassian (C&C Design) and first built in 1967 by Hinterhoeller Yachts Ltd. in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. It was one of the early production fiberglass boats from the era, influenced by Carl Alberg's designs, featuring graceful lines, a raked stem, upswept stern, and wooden cockpit coamings for a traditional aesthetic. Production continued until 1972, when C&C Yachts acquired Hinterhoeller, briefly rebranding it before discontinuing in favor of more modern models like the C&C 30 (of which over 800 were built). Only about 145-150 examples were produced, making it somewhat rare. Designed under the Cruising Club of America (CCA) rule for racer-cruiser balance, it's suitable for coastal cruising, club racing, and day sailing, with good performance in light to moderate winds. It's not ideal for extended blue water passages without modifications due to its open cockpit and deck-stepped mast, but many have undertaken offshore voyages

Disclaimer. Boats are not all the same -- even when produced in the same factory of the same model. Sailrite does its best to publish accurate dimensions, but we often find it worthwhile to have our customers measure their boats carefully before we produce kits for them. You should take the same precautions, especially when the data is not from Sailrite.
